A Beautiful Resilience

It has been a long while since I sat down to write. I have had so many thoughts and just not enough clarity to make it cohesive. I still don’t, but I was browsing through the notes in my phone the other day and found something I had written down which I wanted to share: “I’ve realized something in my time of heartbreak. The Bible is God’s love letter to us. In it, He’s saying I’ll see you soon. But until I do, look for Me. Look for Me. In the flowers, the trees, the strong wind, the gentle breeze. The faces of your children. I’m there. And I’m with you always. I sent My Spirit that you might never be alone. And I’m coming back for you. So walk with Me. Love Me. And share My love with others. Give them hope. For I love them too. It won’t be long and I’ll see you soon. Experience this life for what it is, with Me, and learn how to truly live.”

Often in hard times, such as the times we have experienced these last 4ish years, we think that beauty is frivolous. But I believe that God Himself is beautiful and that He causes us to desire beauty in our lives because it gives us hope. He is beauty and He is hope. There is a resilience that is necessary to seek out, create, and reach for beauty in times that are difficult. But it is in fact this resilience and this creativity which can also break us out of the difficulty. So if you find yourself in troubled waters, seek out beauty, and seek out the beautiful One, He will get you through.

In my art journal this week, I wanted to get back to simple sketching, so I made this little series which I based off of some lovely bouquets that I found on Pinterest.

Thanks for stopping by!
