Always on my Heart

These days Texas is always on my heart. They are having revival in the church we are planning to attend, and while we watch the services every night from here, my heart just longs to be there. I haven’t talked about revival much, if at all here, but God has really placed a fire in my heart these last months. My husband told me back in February (I think), that God told him there would be a revival in our Texas church. While we were visiting Texas in February, the Asbury Revival began. I believe that soon we will see it springing up everywhere. The world is ripe for it.

God has had me reading a few books lately that have really stirred this passion in me. It started with Glory by Ruth Ward Heflin, then I read Golden Glory, and now I’m reading Revival Glory. They are all wonderful books. I’m also reading the Kathryn Kuhlman biography by Jamie Buckingham. It is so well written and I am just thoroughly enjoying it. I’m pretty sure my husband is getting tired of daily Kathryn Kuhlman stories as I recount to him all of the most memorable parts. Next I am planning to read William Branham: A Man Sent from God by Gordon Lindsay.

Ruth Ward Heflin in her book was talking about how fasting precedes revival. And so during our church’s October conference, I decided to start a fast. It was very interesting because the very next day(!) they began to speak of revival breaking out. When God confirms a word in a timely way like that, it is such a blessing to my heart. I know the revival did not start because I fasted for one day, it was the prayers that the church and the body had sown for generations. But God gave me this gift of confirmation. They continued the conference for several days past the intended end date, and now, in November, the church continues to have regular revival services.

“Start believing for it and declaring it to come to pass. It’s God’s time. If the whole earth is to be filled ‘with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord,’ that means that your town and your house will be filled as well. Stop thinking it’s impossible and start claiming it. God said it will happen.”” (Revival Glory, p. 68-69 kindle version)

“Let your voice speak forth with great anointing and authority. Let it go forth to the ends of the earth. When you make an effort to be included in the greater thing God is doing, you cannot help but be enlarged personally. You lose nothing. Trust for the transforming graces of the Lord to be felt far and wide. What He is doing in the earth is great.” (Revival Glory, p. 69 kindle version)

I recently asked God what I had been going through, the pain, the discomfort, all of it. He revealed to me that He was circumcising my heart. When I heard that, it suddenly became much more bearable. I feel that He is doing a cleansing work in me too, as well as enlarging my capacity for Him. All this time, while I was mostly oblivious to what was going on, He was preparing me for revival. And then He placed a fire for revival in my heart. He continuously fills me with wonder in the ways that He works. He’s so good. I have such anticipation for all that He is doing and I look forward to this new season with such joy.

My art practice has been scattered at best lately, but I’m still creating regularly (mainly in bed at night), and that keeps me happy.

Kind of abrupt to end here, but I’m out of thoughts to share for now. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Wow! The art is lovely! I’m contending for revival too. I know that it us just starting to bubble up here and there, little fires, and it will start spreading- to consume the dross and bring great outpouring, salvation, deliverance, and refreshing!
