Procrasti-crafting and Independence

I call it procrasti-crafting. Whenever I have something that I know I should be working on, I seem to immediately find something ELSE that I think I should be working on. Since I am still in the midst of my mentorship program, I should be working on my 100 works on paper, and I should be working on editing old paintings, and I should be working on starting a new collection. That’s a lot of shoulds, and so I go into procrasti-crafting mode. This time around, this looks a lot like finishing up all of my many art journals that I started. I have posted some of the latest and in-process journals above. And while it is a definite positive that I’m getting better about finishing what I started, I really do need to get back to working on painting for my course. So hopefully that happens tonight! I have also been procrastinating on blogging. But I’m here!

I have been feeling so much hope lately. After a long, dark, and somewhat hopeless-feeling season, it feels so good to see the light of day again. The Lord has been showering me with signs and confirmations lately and I’m starting to see all of the pieces of the puzzle coming together. We have been planning to move to the US or have at least been talking about it for a few years now, so the move feels like a very long time in the making. We listed our home for sale at the end of Nov in 2022. Many people keep asking when or if the house has sold, and so sometimes it can feel weird that other people seem stressed about the timeline, but I just have this knowing that God will work it out at just the right time. In the meantime, before we have even moved, and before I even stepped foot in the US this year, God has been placing this nation on my heart (on all our hearts). I was sharing with the kids about Independence Day and the significance of that for the nation. It’s pretty amazing that it came down to congress writing a letter to say that they don’t want to be part of the British Empire any more (aka the Declaration of Independence). It boggles my mind to think that it came down to something so simple.. (I know there was a war and many other events leading up to it.. but I love how it came down to a declaration.. important spiritual truth in there!).. and I can’t help but think, why didn’t Canada join in this?!? The nation of Canada has gone down some severe rabbit trails and detours with the current administration and it really is showing the effects of not being a sovereign nation. It is hard to have national pride and a great love for country when your country is subservient to a distant monarchy. I did grow up loving my country, but I always remember thinking it seemed a bit odd how patriotic Americans are.. I couldn’t understand it then, but I do now.

God has been showing me that America isn’t just any nation, it’s HIS nation. And it’s a place that chose Him first, that built their constitution on His principles, and it’s a nation that draws people from around the world for their love of God and their love of freedom. I believe we are entering into a time where He is going to reignite that in the hearts of Americans. The enemy did all he could to have an entire generation of youth that hate their flag and despise their nation. Not on our watch. It’s time for every freedom-loving American to rise up and show the next generation that their country is worth fighting for. So we fight this battle, not with physical weapons, but with THE truth, God’s truth, found in the Word of God.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

    1. Well that is just a beautiful compliment, thank you! I honestly have been so addicted to the journal making process for the past year (I’m guessing 40+ journals if you include all the minis) and so I haven’t put too much consideration into the next step. I already have several journals with designated purposes, and one that I traded with my photographer friend for some photos. But I’m not sure if I will sell any yet.. I would love to be able to fill them all with art, journaling, and mini collages!Β  Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android
