Hello friends! I had to laugh a bit when I went on my Youtube channel and realized it’s been over a year since I posted my first video! I had planned to be back soon with the next one, but we were in the middle of renos and yard work in order to get our house ready for sale, and alas here we are.. over a year later. I’m hoping that I will be able to post a bit more regularly from here on out.
I will link my new video down below and I do hope you will check it out! It is a walk through of the kawaii journal. It kind of morphed into a bright mixed media/photo journal but I love how it is turning out. I have been going through everything in our house decluttering and packing and found a bunch of artsy photos from my teens and twenties and they found their way into my art journal.
And some exciting news to go along with my new video is that my husband generously let me use one of his original songs which is making its very first public debut in my video! Let me know what you think, it’s one of my favorite songs of his.
The last few evenings I have been working on painting a doll house for my baby girl for her Christmas present, so I haven’t had as much time in my art journals. I’m currently working in a larger format journal that I’m using as a ‘favorite things’ journal. It’s been so fun and relaxing to make each page as a collection of items, fabrics, images, and colors that I love. I think it will also be great inspiration for future projects and journals. In my search to find ‘my style’ I am really discovering that the way that I paint and make art already is my style, and it may refine and change over the years but I’m embracing what it is at this moment. The rest is just embracing the subject matter you love, as well as influences and inspirations that make your art uniquely yours.
Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks, for sharing! I love the concept of making a joy journal!! Maybe I should try it. I loved how you combined photos with colors and patterns you loved, and also added in your children’s drawings. I need more joy, so it seems like a good idea. I’m trying to find my style too, and I think I landed on ” intuitive” but I just want to be free to grow in other styles, to. Welcome back to youtube!
